Defending champions Ssingo will host Ssese in the 2019 Airtel Masaza Cup opener on 1st June at Mityana Saza grounds.
Minister for Youth, Sports and Leisure in the Buganda Kingdom Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu assured that they will make sure they have great officiation. He also hinted on fighting hooliganism both on and off the pitch
“I am delighted to confirm that Ssingo will host Ssese in the 2019 Masaza cup opener at Mityana Saza grounds”.
” This year we expect a more successful tournament and we shall make sure that we have great officiation so that teams win on merit”.

Chairman Masaza Cup committee Hajji Sulaiman Ssejjengo is confident that they have implemented new rules and regulations in this year’s edition
“We have come out with various rules and regulations which will be availed at the official launch of the competition. We expect every team to have an ambulance at the pitch. I believe we shall have a tremendous football competition this year.”

This prestigious tournament has given rise to many stars like Tony Mawejje, Diego Hamis Kiiza, Mike Serumaga, Emmanuel Arnold Okwi, Brian Umony, Robert Odongkara, Joseph Ochaya, Geoffrey Wasswa, Pius Wangi, Ashiraf Mandela, Miya Farouk, Isaac Muleme, Yasser Mugerwa, Godfrey Walusimbi. The Airtel sponsored event is slated to kick off in June 2019.
