Busiro and Bugerere football teams are vying for the signature of Emmanuel Anguzu, an offensive midfielder at Buganda Regional League side Free Stars FC.

Sources indicate that the player is undecided about his next destination with both teams willing to meet his demands by all means.

Anguzu, nicknamed “Chekube” was part of the Uganda Christian University (UCU) team that won the 2019 Pepsi University League championship.

Anguzu is a former student at Risah Standard in Lugazi.

The preparations for the 2020 Masaza Cup tournament are underway with all the 18 teams embarking on signing new players amidst the uncertainty brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Busiro, who are also last year’s runners up, will be under the tutelage of Bright Stars head coach Paul Kiwanuka.

Henry Kabugo and Andy Ssali will be the men in charge of Bugerere as the head and assistant coach respectively.

The Masaza Cup was scheduled for June but it’s kick off remains uncertain.
