MASAZA CUP : Buddu off the mark as Ssingo survives in Kabulasoke to remain unbeaten.

Gomba Lions preparing to kick off against Ssingo yesterday in Kabulasoke.

Defending champions Buddu finally recorded their first win of the 2017 campaign with 2 quick fire goals from Mugema Julius in the 34 and 39th minutes, Mugema is a new recruit signed from Ssese . They managed to hold onto the lead to snatch all 3 points even after Kyeyune Meddie pulled one back for Kkooki in the 86th minute to cut the lead. They are now on 5 points after only collecting 2 points from their first 2 games.

Gomba versus Ssingo was touted as the game of the weekend and it lived to the billing as top scorer Mukwala Steven opened the scoring as he put the visitors in the lead after only 5 minutes taking his impressive tally to 3 in as many games. Gomba responded with relentless attacks and these were repaid after only 6 minutes when Satro Edward capitalised on a well weighed corner kick delivered by Janjali Joseph which the Ssingo defence failed to clear to equalize for the hosts, the second period saw Ssingo sit back and managed they to fend off the relentless attacks from Gomba to snatch a deserved draw.

Ssemambo Jackson opened the scoring for Kyaggwe but his goal wasn’t enough as Bulemezi fought back through Stephen Kabuye and Timothy Butebede to send the fully parked Kasana ground wild.

Bugerere proved too strong for winless Bululi as Baker Muwaya and Ssemugera Misi struck home to give the home team a comfortable deserved 3 points. Bululi have only managed one point so far

Busujju and Buwekula shared the spoils after Richard Matovu’s strike was cancelled out by Ddumba Denis who equalised for the hosts.

At Sentema grounds, Busiro and neighbors Kyaddondo played to a barren draw as Butambala conceded a late equalizer in added time and only left the islands of Buvuma with a point.
