Masaza Cup 2017: 12 goals registered in four fixtures

Four games from Groups A and B were on cards in the Masaza cup producing 3 stalemates. Twelve goals were scored with Kkooki registering the only victory thumping Ssese 5-1.

In group A, Mawokota shared spoils with Busiro with 1-1 draw at Buwama. Striker Kasozi Kennedy nutmegged Busiro goalkeeper Farouk Mubiru to salvage a point for the hosts with 7 minutes from time. Owinya Michael had put Busiro ahead with a sublime volley from 10 yards in the 39th minute.
Mawokota retaliated to register their first point this year after losing 2-1 and 2-0 to Butambala and Kyaddondo respectively.

At Phillip Omondi, Kyaddondo came from behind to register a 1-1 draw with Islanders Buvuma.
Wabinga Edson had put Buvuma ahead in the 49th minute but the home side fought back getting an equaliser through midfielder Kasule Owen in the 81st minute.

This is a good result for our team since counterparts Mawokota and Busiro also drew. The 5 points we have can be our stepping stone for qualifying to the quarter finals.”

Kigongo Farouk Buvuma head coach said.
Buvuma is tied with Kyaddondo and Butambala at the summit of group A on 5 points each while Busiro trail on 3 points and Mawokota sit at the bottom with one point.

Kigongo adds,

We have got four injuries today. Kalule Henry, Manyali Daniel, Opio Emmanuel and Nsubuga Mark all make up our long injury list.”

In group B, Kabula played a 1-1 home draw with Mawogola at Bakijulula while Kkooki walloped Ssese 5-1 at Lwanda grounds.
