Maroons hold Express to register record 17th draw of the season

By: Danito Nsubuga

Express FC’s woes continued yesterday at the prisons grounds in Luzira when they failed to hold on to exquisite effort that had given them the lead in the 38th minute.

Express played with vigour like a team on a mission to beat relegation but they failed to extend their lead and in the 47th minute, Abdallah Ssenyonga capitalised on a loose ball that Omar Hitimana failed to clear to smash home a low shot that beat Godwin Buule.

Express will have themselves to blame as their profligacy cost them of their hard work.

Express players celebrate Birungi’s goal

Michael Birungi failed to bury an obvious chance in the 87th minute when he was presented with a glorious opportunity but he fumbled and blasted the ball way over the bar.

The result means that Express are still stuck in the relegation zone on 26 points, whereas Maroons consolidate their 6th position on 35 points

Express’ next game is a home duel against defending champions and contenders KCCA on Tuesday 1st April, whereas Maroons will visit BUL FC on the same date
