Maroons detain Onduparaka to register first win of the season

Maroons FC 2-1 Onduparaka FC

Goals from Solomon Walusimbi and Rashid Agau handed George Best Nsimbe his first win as Maroons coach against Asaph Mwebaze’s Onduparaka at Luzira.

Onduparaka’s goalkeeper Richard Anyama was at fault when he lost possession to Walusimbi who slotted in Maroons’ first goal in the 28th minute.

Anyama’s equal number Emma Akol had a busy evening between the posts as he preserved his side’s slender lead from a host of attacks from the Caterpillars.

It was in the 68th minute that former Onduparaka man Rashid Agau doubled the lead with his fourth goal of the season after beating defenders and their custodian Anyama.

Rashid Toha pulled one back for the visiting side after heading home a well delivered corner kick 2 minutes to normal time.

The win propels Maroons FC from the bottom of the table to the 13th place with 5 points while Onduparaka slips to the 7th position with 11 points.

Maroons will next play Kirinya JSS in Jinja on Tuesday 13th- November while Onduparaka FC will be back in action on Tuesday -20th- November hosting Ndejje University.
