” I realized that Africa needs as far as sports are concerned is the need to bridge the gap between talent and knowledge.”

She also believes that lack of technical knowledge and management skills has hindered the progress of many talented boys and girls in Africa

We have outstanding talent, but we lose it because people mismanage it at some point because they lack the technical knowledge and management skills.”

” I think now that our focus should be on sports education and I’m talking about the formative years of sports, most coaches or managers still operate using just their passion for the game not the skills.”

On what her foundation has done to solve some of the challenges, Mpaata says,

In bid to play my part, I recently started the Afrika Sports Foundation Center in Uganda with the aim of providing platforms that will bridge this challenge.”

” In the next few years, the center will offer sports courses and opportunities to those passionate in sports. It is still a long way, but I have begun with baby steps, acquiring land for the center has been one of those amazing steps toward this dream.”
