“I am very confident that we shall be able to play topflight football next season. I have done this for a longtime in Uganda by guiding second tier clubs to topflight football. I also want to do the same here in Kenya.”

” We ended the first round of the Kenyan Super league division on top and I strongly believe we will build on it during the second round to reach our target.”

Makumbi holds a record of guiding the most number of clubs in Uganda to top tier football as a coach, they are 13 in total and he will be seeking to write more history in Kenya.

Makumbi’s Western Stima is top of the Kenyan Super league division with 36 points collected in 18 games and are 4 points above second placed Ushuru.

Western Stima is also home to Ugandan players Remmy Makumbi (Makumbi’s biological son) and former BUL FC Captain Junior Mukisa.

They will open their second round fixture away to Modern coast Rangers on Saturday 16th June before facing off with second placed Ushuru at Camp Toyoyo.
