It’s Wednesday, 2nd June live at at Bombo where SC Villa hosts SC Vipers a head of their Stanbic Uganda Cup return leg in a 1-1 tie.

Despite all flaws surrounding Villa camp with players’ salaries and wages being due for months, not having enough training sessions prior to the big fixture. Villa finds it’s way on the pitch.

And guess who is in charge of the game!! Ronald Madanda and his assistants Dick Okello and Okudra Emmanuel who were later pelted with stones by angry Villa fans for allowing two controversial Vipers goals that eventually decided the game.

Bobosi Byaruhanga netted from a free kick even though SC Villa left back Derrick Ndahiro appeared to have cleared the ball before it crossed the line.

Vipers midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala is believed to be Ronald Madanda’s blood brother

The second one scored by substitute Milton Karisa was also questionable when his volleyed effort hit the top bar and bounced back before the assistant referee signalled for goal.

Controversial ? Yeah indeed controversy and football are inseparable for ages, however, questions rise high realizing the center refree is a big brother to Vipers SC attacking midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala. Was this fate ? Was it coincidence ? .

In December, 2020, Madanda made it to the list of approved Ugandan FIFA referees for 2021. He also made the 2020 list that was sent to FUFA by the FIFA referees committee in 2019.

Okello and Okudra who were Madanda’s assistants in this controversial game are among the six Ugandan International assistant referees for this year.
