Lweza might have been relegated to the big League but they remain strong, positive and determined to get back up where they feel they belong.
“I am sure we did not get demoted because our team was weak but rather due to the problems we faced along the way, we shall come back better and even stronger.” says Zawedde Gladys popularly known as “Maama Lweza”
a one passionate fan and supporter of Lweza also carrying out her duties on the team’s fans committee.
Zawedde attributes their demotion to the massive exit of not only players but also the coach in Ibrahim Kirya who joined Uganda Revenue Authority fc in the middle of the season leaving Coach Hamza Kalanzi in charge, before she hints on Lweza being a better side than a number of teams including Police fc which they defeated in their last game at Namboole but they ( Police ) were only lucky to have got boardroom points from their game which had ended prematurely in Jinja against Jinja Municipal Council.
It should be remembered that Ibrahim Kirya who had a very good record with the tax collectors since leaving and players like Paddy Muhumuza former captain at Lweza had a tremendous contribution in the second round of the season at Soana fc, Kasibante James ,Nkata Fred ,Karim Ndugwa ,Bwete Brian, Ssembuya Patrick . Lweza has now started early preparation for the big league next season by sharing ideas between the fans and the club administrators,
The 2nd in series of such meetings is set to take place on Sunday 11th.06.2017 at the Uganda Clays grounds Kajjansi starting at 2:00pm.The meeting will be looking at fundraising money to sustain the club with needs like buying a coaster mini bus to easien transport troubles for the club.
