It is no speculation now as Lweza football club has been sold to politician Jude Mbabali from former owner Ahmed Ddamulira commonly known as “Opa”. The change in ownership also implies Lweza FC will now shift to Masaka district. The club was formerly based at Kajjansi and hosted Premier League games at Wankulukuku stadium.

The sale was inevitable following financial constraints mid way last season and was intensified when the club succumbed to relegation on the last match of the season way back in May.

Masaka district LC 5 chairman Jude Mbabali expressed his desire to promote football in his locale and took up the club but will co-own it with Ddamulira who has remained with minor shares. Jude Mbabali is a lawyer by profession and a political administrator from the Democratic Party

Lweza FC will play in the Fufa Big League for the first time since 2014 after its 3-season adventure in the top flight came to an end. Since May, the club has lost a host of players after it relegation like Mudde Swaib, Owen Kasule, Sempa Charles, Rajab Kakooza, Balinnya Juma among others.
