Lwesibawa scores hat trick as Express obliterate Busoga to go top

Winger Godfrey Lwesibawa scored a hat trick for Express as the Red Eagles beat Busoga United 4-0 at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

In-form striker Eric Kambale scored the other and took his tally to 13 goals this season.

Express were upfront by the 21st minute when Lwesibawa tapped home after Martin Kizza’s effort was spilled by goalkeeper Michael Nantamu.

Seven minutes later, Lwesibawa scored another with a half volley after Kizza set him up.

Six minutes into the second half, Lwesibawa completed his hat trick when he finished off a wonderful spadework by Charles Musiige.

In the 65th minute, Kambale turned Otwao Abubakar inside out to complete the rout with his 8th goal in the last five games.

The win saw Express complete a double over the Jinja outfit and also registered their sixth consecutive victory in the league.

The Red Eagles are now top of the table with 54 points, one more than URA who visit Kyetume at the Nakisunga grounds.

Busoga remained 13th with 26 points and will visit KCCA on Saturday in their next league game.

Express will host Kitara in their subsequent fixture at Wankulukuku on Friday 21st May.
