Lutalo trims Crested Cranes squad as preparations for COSAFA continue

For this year's edition, Uganda is pooled in Group C alongside Eswatini, Zambia and Namibia.

Crested Cranes head coach George William Lutalo has trimmed the provisional 32 player squad to 26 as preparations for COSAFA tournament continue.

The team is currently in residential camp at the FUFA Technical centre in Njeru- Buikwe District.

Goalkeeper Elsie Najjemba, Justin Kizza Juuko, Grace Nassongo Kauthar Naluyima and Elite league MVP Joan Naggayi have all been dropped.

Lutalo will once again trim the squad to the required 20 players team before leaving the country for South Africa on 27th, September, 2021.

Crested Cranes star Fazila Ikwaput will miss out of the tournament due to injury.

The Crested Cranes will be playing in the COSAFA Women’s Championship for the second time their maiden appearance in 2018. The Ugandans settled for a Third place then.
