Lubega replaced Alfred Leku early in the second half to secure maximum points for Matia Lule’s side.

In the first period giant striker Alfred Leku was guilty for missing numerous opportunities

Leku nearly gave Proline the lead but his powerful header went over the bar. The latter also missed another chance as custodian Wasswa saved his powerful shot. It ended goalless at halftime.

Early in the second period, Lubega was introduced on for Leku to make his Proline homecoming debut.

Moments after coming on, Lubega had his effort on the volley kiss the cross bar.

With the clock ticking, Lubega introduced himself to the Poline faithfuls with a superbly taken free kick that left Onduparaka goalie helpless.

By the end of proceedings, Lubega’s sole strike was enough to inspire Matia Lule’s charges to their first win of the season.

Proline will next face SC Villa on Saturday 7th September at StarTimes Stadium whereas Onduparaka will face Express FC at Betway Muteesa II on the same day.
