Lubega opens up scoring account at SV Ried

SV Ried 3-0 Liefering FC

Ugandan striker Edrisa Lubega Torres scored his first ever goal for his new Austrian second tier side SC Guntamatic Ried in their 3-0 home win over Liefering FC on Friday night.

Lubega opened SV Ried’s rout on the evening with a superb finish off a well raid Manuel Kerhe cross a minute to the halftime whistle.

The former Proline man had earlier on attempted to draw first blood in the 35th minute but emerged unsuccessful.

Liefering were reduced to ten men after Guinean midfielder Muhammad Camara was sent off for a second bookable offence 4 minutes before Lubega scored.


Win big cash with Kagwirawo

Come into the second half, Stefano Surdanovic (51′) and Julian Wießmeier (90 ‘) stretched the lead to ensure SV Ried walks away with a comfortable victory, their 3rd of the season.

This was Lubega’s third game in the Vikings’ famous green shirt having previously featured in victories against WSG Wattens and Kapfenberger SV managing one assist on to his name.

The win springs Lubega and teammates to the summit of the Austrian Football second league (Erste Liga) with 12 points collected from 4 league games.

SV Guntamatic Ried will return to league action on Sunday 26th August with an away fixture against Sportklub Union Amstetten.
