Kyetume FC are targeting BUL FC out of contract left back Richard Matovu, Swift Sports understands.
Matovu had his employment contract with BUL FC expire at the end of the previous campaign and negotiations for a possible extension have reportedly turned out futile.
After both parties failed to reach a compromise, Kyetume FC have stepped up to swoop their former defender.
Matovu left Kyetume for BUL FC in 2018 and has since then been a mainstay in the left side of defense for the Jinja outfit.
Swift Sports sources also reveal Express FC are another side that openly expressed interest in capturing Matovu but seemingly dithered in the eleventh hour.
It should be noted that last season, Kyetume’s left back position was evenly shared among Samson Mutyaba, Steven Sande, Philly Lutaaya and Dan Birikwalira.
The Slaughters who re-appointed Charles Livingstone Mbabazi as their head coach, have already agreed terms with defender Bernard Muwanga.
BUL FC have already signed Aggrey Madoi who is likely to be deputized by Fredrick Kigozi in the left back position in the 2020/21 season.
