Kyetume host Mbarara City in quest to keep survival hopes alive

In their previous league match, Kyetume lost 1-0 to SC Villa at Bombo Military Grounds

Kyetume FC will continue with their fight to overcome relegation when they host Mbarara City on Wednesday at Nakisunga playground.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two sides. In the previous three meetings, Mbarara City have managed two wins and Kyetume winning the other.

The Ankole Lions beat Kyetume FC 3-1 in the first round meeting.

Last season, Kyetume FC overpowered Mbarara City 4-3 at home.

Jackson Mayanja’s coached side are 14th on the log with 24 points. They have managed five wins, drawn eight and lost 13 games this term. Kyetume have only scored 27 goals this season.

The Ankole Lions are 9th with 35 points, they have won 9, drawn 8 and lost 9 this campaign.

Mbarara City head coach Livingstone Mbabazi will be returning to his former paymasters. His side will be seeking for a fourth straight win after pulling off victories in their previous three games.

The Slaughters will be without Mujuzi Mustafa and Ezra Kaye due to ankle injury and illness respectively.

Custodian Joel Mutakubwa and defender Julius Ntambi remain suspended.

The visitors on the other side will be without Makueth Wol currently with the South Sudan national team while Swalik Ssegujja Bebe, Zaidi Byekweso, Jackson Opio, Salim Huud are also out of the contest.

Jude Ssemugabi and Bamba Souleyman are back in the side after recovering from injuries.
