David GOMBE

Kyetume FC strike Robert Sentongo scored his first goal of the season on Tuesday to secure a 1-0 win over Proline FC at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Proline were rattled and rolled over. They knew what to expect, they knew what was coming from Kyetume but they ultimately and damningly could not cope with it.

George Best Nsimbe’s charges showed the organization, the strength, desire and heart to overcome a side with continental experience but one which has the perennial fragility and, yes, mental weakness.

Both sides were not productive in the first period of the contest and went into the halftime breather goalless stalemate.

Sentongo broke the deadlock two minutes into the second tapping in a well delivered Sharif Saka cross.

Matia Lule’s charges pressed for the leveler but Noordin Bunjo, Bright Anukani and Joshua Okiror were all denied by Slaughters’ custodian Joel Mutakubwa.

Kyetume FC move to eighth place with 13 points garnered in 8 games whereas defeat piles more pressure on Lule’s and his side, they stay bottom on the table.

Nsimbe’s side will next host Vipers SC on 30th October at Mandela National Stadium while Proline will face KCCA FC on 5th November at Lugogo.
