It was a strike in the 28th minute and a penalty moments into the second half ensured the recently crowned Player of the month of February seals maximum points for Sofapaka.

The former SC Villa and Police FC striker whose season target is scoring 20 goals, has now scored nine thus far.

Kasumba’s nine goal tally pits him in the third place in the golden boot race. Kakamega Homeboyz’ Allan Wanga leads the chart with 11 while Enosh Ochieng of Ulinzi Stars has managed 10.

Victory for the Batoto Ba Mungu also cut Gor Mahia’s lead on the table to only four points despite the former playing two more games.

The Kenya Premier League will resume on Wednesday 10th April with five games to be played.
