Abege put the high-flying Sharks ahead as early as 13 minutes on the clock with a header off a well delivered free kick from Patilah Omoto.
The lead short-lived for only four minutes, Whyvonne Isuza struck home from close range to level up for AFC Leopards capitalizing on a defensive lapse.
Come into the second period, Kariobangi Sharks restored their lead through Duke Abuya who slotted in an initial save off Abege’s goal bound shot in the 53rd minute.
Abege put the game to bed finishing off an enthusiastic run from Harrison Mwenda 5 minutes past the hour mark.
On the opposite half, Ugandan left footed gem Baker Lukooya featured for the losing side.
The brace marked Abege’s 4th goal in 3 games – having previously netted victories against Nakumatt and Thika United.
The 3-1 triumph also makes it 4 wins in 4 games for Kariobangi Sharks but keeps them 6th on the Kenyan Premier league table with 46 points accumulated from 31 outings.
Next on card for Abege and teammates is a SportsPesa semi final encounter against Ulinzi Stars on Sunday 23rd September at Machakos.
