Turkish club Konyaspor Kulübü has confirmed the departure of Uganda Cranes offensive midfielder Farouk Miya.

Miya had one year left on his contract with Konyaspor which has been mutually terminated.

The former Vipers talisman has not been part of Konyaspor’s team engagements since pre-season ahead of an anticipated move away from the club.

Miya was destined for a loan transfer to Turkish second tier club MKE Ankaragucu but his move hit a dead end.

He has in the past two seasons played 46 games for Konyaspor and contributed 8 and three assists.

The 2019/20 season remains Miya’s best since moving to Europe five years ago. Miya produced 8 goals and 3 assists from the 25 league games he played as Konyaspor raced to beat relegation on the final day of the season.

He joined Konyaspor in August 2019 on a three year contract following an impressive 2018-19 season with Croatian side HNK Gorica.
