Kisala issues warning ahead of tough visit to Wankulukuku

UPDF FC head coach Kefa Kisala has called upon his team to put behind their three match winless patch if they are to come on top of a very in form Express side.

The Red Eagles have won four of their last five league matches, a run that has seen them return to serious contention for the title.

UPDF on the contrary last celebrated a win when they hosted relegation bound Kitara at Bombo. They have gone on to lose 5-1 against Wakiso Giants followed by 2 draws with MYDA and Busoga United.

That form also shades a dark cloud on whether Kisala will be called back to lead his team out of the dugout after being asked to step aside for two matches.

” We must show that we are capable of rising to any occasion. We are up against a very tough side who are challenging for the title and have won 4 matches on the trot”

“Our form hasn’t been good but we can still wake up and win at Wankulukuku ”

“This is a tough game that requires mentally tough players to prevail, if don’t do that we can be in for a very long evening there” .

Kisala told this website

Kisala was sacked by Express FC in 2019 following a string of poor results. He is also a legend of a club but he insists emotions will not be required into this game.

“Well, I am now coach of UPDF FC and we also have our goals. Football is played on the pitch and always focus should be put on the 90 minutes of play. We are going there to challenge them and see if they are serious title contenders who are bound to represent Uganda on the continent”

He added

The UPDF head coach has also confirmed that defender Simon Mbaziira and forward Dickens Okwi will not travel with the team despite resuming training with the first team. The duo is recovering from injury.

UPDF are currently sitting 7th on the log with 33 points and they appear to have achieved their target of staying in the league thanks to their impeccable performances in the first round.
