UPDF tactician Kefa Kisaala has confirmed to Swift Sports about his unfortunate exit at Uganda Premier league side UPDF FC.
Kisala who replaced Steven Bogere at the beginning of the season has seen his two year contract terminated with 12 months left.
“It is true we have resolved to bring this contract to an end. I was fully committed to this job but some of my bosses weren’t going to allow reach the heights I wanted to reach with this team”
It should be remembered that Kisala was handed a four match suspension by club C.E.O Ashiraf Miiro after UPDF’s embarrassing 5-1 loss to Wakiso Giants in the league.
He was later reinstated in the dugout after the team picked only two points from four matches. He managed to win a point off SC Villa and that proved to be his final game in charge of the Bombo based side.
“I was asked to write a written apology over things I weren’t aware of. Every team in a season undergoes a bad patch but we were working on moving out of it. We started very well in the season but injuries to key players rendered us a setback. There is no way a professional coach can write an apology over a string of bad results.
The former Express FC, BUL, Masaka LC and Wakiso Giants coach was however adamant to point at his next step but gave an assurance that he is still in the fame and welcome to any offers.
” At the moment I have no imminent offers but I am open to any opportunities. This game made me and I am it’s servant.”
Kisala managed to keep UPDF in the league after finishing 10th with 34 points.
This website has learnt that UPDF have made contacts with former Mbarara city coach Brian Senyondo and Peter Onen formerly of BUL and the national U17s to replace Kisala
MYDA and Kitara the teams with whom they attained promotion to the top flight couldn’t survive relegation.
