Kirya wonder goal lights up dull Gaddafi victory over Mbarara city

Amos Kirya collected the ball from a perfect cut back from Faisal Muwawu at the centre arch, he ran close to 45 yards to finish off a superb solo effort that gifted Arua Hill with priceless three points on the road.

Kirya’s goal was arguably the only realistic point to write home about and thankfully it decided the match.

Mbarara city only showed some intent in the 78th minute when Seiri Arigumaho thought he had stole a point for the hosts but it was called off after it was established by the referee that he had handled the ball in the build up.

The new comers have continued to express themselves as a serious entity that did not just qualify to take part in the Uganda Premier league, but also to stay for quite longer.

They have already garnered 17 points even before we hit the mid season mark and are in line to hit the minimum target required a team to ensure safety.

With the form exhibited by fellow newcomers Tooro United, seasoned participants Soltilo Bright Stars and Busoga United, it would be foolhardy to count Gaddafi among the relegation candidates.

This evening in at Kakyeeka, they earned their 4th win of the season and have only lost 4 times with 5 draws in 13 games.

Their counterparts Mbarara city are on a downward spiral after only managing 4 points from their previous 5 league matches.

Against Gaddafi, they have recorded their 7th loss of the season in 13 matches played so far. The Hussein Mbalangu coached side have only won 4 times and shared points only twice.

They will hope to redeem themselves when they visit title chasing KCCA at Lugogo om 5th January.

Gaddafi will host limping URA in Jinja on the 4th of January 2022.
