Kirinya JSS 1-0 Express FC : Madondo shoots down staggering Red Eagles

• Kirinya Jinja SS 1-0 Express FC

Joel Madondo scored the solitary goal as Kirinya Jinja SS put the stumbling Express to the sword in a rain laden fixture at the Mighty Arena in Jinja.

The Uganda Kobs striker who had been stalled at the 6-goal mark for the past weeks, found the back of the net in the 83rd minute to ensure Kirinya Jinja SS walk to their first ever home win of the season.

Kefa Kisala named a much changed side from the one that succumbed to Onduparaka last week with Ronnie Mutebi, Charles Musoke, Pius Mbidde, Mike Birungi and Mubarak Nsubuga all commanding starting slots.

John Revita featured in a defensive role while Tony Odur, Ibrahim Kayiwa, Mathias Muwanga and the suspended Julius Ntambi missed out.

The Red Eagles have now gone four games without registering a victory thus continuously slump in the table standings.

After the encounter, Charles Ayiekoh’s coached men move to the 9th place whereas Express slip to the 10th position with a point separating the two sides.

Madondo’s strike springs him back to the summit of the scorers’ chats on 7 goals, one clear of the chasing Nelson Senkatuka and SC Villa’s Bashir Mutanda.

Next on card for Express are two ties against their eternal rivals KCCA on Tuesday 11th at Wankulukuku and SC Villa on Saturday 15th in Namboole.

Kirinya Jinja SS will on Tuesday 11th December make a long trip to the West Nile to face struggling debutants Paidha Black Angels.
