Kirinya Jinja SS bounced back to the rails with a 1-0 victory over the bottom placed UPDF FC at Bombo barracks grounds.

Fred Amaku was the hero for the Jinja outfit when he scored the lone goal of the game in the 33rd minute to secure the three points on disposal.

Amaku slotted in a minus from Musa Esenu who was capitalising on a rebound off goalkeeper Alex Mugabi from an Anthony Mayanja powerful shot.

Kirinya Jinja SS dominantly had the game in their control through but failed to convert a number of goal scoring opportunities to kill off the game.

The notable chance of the game landed on substitute Ibrahim Kayiwa who in return failed to score from a one on one with the hosts’ goalkeeper Alex Mugabi.

The army side had less attempts at their disposal until Yasin Mubiru crossed in for Godfrey Wakaza who failed to put the ball at the back of the net.

The defeat keeps Steven Bogere’s men at the base of the Azam Uganda Premier league table with only 6 points from 12 games while Kirinya Jinja SS moves to the 7th place on 17 points.

UPDF will make a long trip to the West Nile to take on Onduparaka in their next fixture whereas Kirinya Jinja SS will visit Vipers at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Friday.
