The Uganda Kickboxing Federation (UKF) in collaboration with Golola talent Academy have on Wednesday 20th November launched the Onaweza Super Edition at Rock Garden Bar, Speke Hotel in Kampala.
UKF President Patrick Luyooza, Kickboxer Golola Moses presided over the official launch.
Onaweza Super Edition event will see talented youngsters in the game showcase their potential in the entire country.
Golola Talent Academy shall be the brand leader of the event with a task of spreading the gospel and organizing the competition in various districts of the country.
According to Luyooza, the UKF president they are to work hand in hand with Golola Talent Academy to see that Kickboxing in spread across the country
“Kickboxing is a growing sport in the country, there is a lot of talent among the youth in Uganda.” We shall therefore as a federation work hand in hand with Golola talent academy to spread the Kickboxing experience far and wide.”
Through this many young people will no longer need to come to Kampala for their talent to be noticed.” Stated Luyooza.
The opening exhibition fight is slated for Friday 29th November 2019 at Rock Garden Bar, Speke Hotel in Kampala.
Over 150 Vibrant and active clubs are being targeted by the end of 2020.
Additionally, the inter clubs regional finals will also be on going, this Sunday (24th November 2019) the Easter region will be hosting the finals in Soroti.
Ntinda will host the Central region finals on 1st December 2019 and the Northern region finals shall be on 7th December 2019 while the Southern and Western region date will be communicated later.
Meanwhile, the National championship (Amateur regional grand finale) will take place between 18th to 22nd December 2019 at Freedom City, Namasuba.
