KICK BOXING : Patricia Apolot “Black Pearl” to face Kenyan Awino in World title fight

Ugandan female Kick Boxer Patricia Apolot “Black Pearl” will face off with Kenyan Joyce Awino in a title World title fight slated which will be held on Saturday 31st August at Smiles Corner, Kireka Kira municipality.

The two fighters will lock horns in a super lightweight fight (K1 Style). The event is sanctioned by both the Uganda Kick Boxing Federation and World Kick Boxing Federation.

This will also be a rematch between the two fighters, having previously faced off on 20th April this year, in a fight that saw Apolot come out on top.

During a press briefing held on Tuesday at the venue for the fight, Apolot has promised to overcome her opponent

“I have prepared well and ready to defend my title, the last time i faced Awino i knocked her down in the first round.” She asked me for the rematch and i am ready to explosively finish her.”

Uganda Kick Boxing Federation President, Patrick Luyooza hailed Apolot for her commitment towards the game which has seen her rise the Ugandan flag

“She is the first Ugandan female kick boxer to shine and carry the Ugandan flag at Regional, continental and on the world stage. Her commitment towards the game has helped her succeed and we wish her a great fight.”

Apolot is the reigning Africa world title holder, holder of the intercontinental title organised by the World Kick Boxing Federation.
