Yasin Lwanga scored the all important goal as Kibuli edged Lukuli 1-0 to win a Makindye Mutuba III Sports tournament final at Katwe playgrounds.
In Netball Kibuye I emerged as the winners defeating Makindye II in the final. The event started in March and saw 20 parishes tussle it out.
Makindye division Mayor Kasirye Nganda Mulyanyama was the chief guest at the glamorous final.
Hajji Ssemambo Musa Musoke the gombolola chief in Buganda Kingdom thanked the sponsors Opportunity bank, Rima and Kampala University for the support rendered to the competition
” We thank the sponsors Opportunity bank, Rima and Kampala University for the support they have given us to see that we have a successful tournament.
I also thank all the teams that have participated in the competition which has seen many youths showcase their talents. The new talented boys will help out Kyadondo county have a competitive team for this year’s Masaza cup competition.”
In his remarks, Mulyanyama the Makindye division Mayor also appreciated the organisers and promised to give them support
“Let me thank the organisers of this competition, it’s not easy to organize a great tournament like this but it has been a wonderful football and Netball competition. Sports activities bring about unity in the society.
I promise to always give support to so that we have more talented boys and girls from our division.”
Mulyanyama also promised to provide sound to both the finalists during their parties.
Kibuli the undisputed champions walked away with a Bull and trophy whereas runners up Lukuli took home a goat.
