With more than a month of preparation, newly appointed Express FC tactician Kefa Kisala has pointed out at some of the key aspects that need to be worked upon if his team are to have a successful season 2018/19.
Swift Sports managed to have a brief interview with him after their 2-1 loss to Police FC in one of the many pre season friendlies they have played in.
The key area he highlighted is the goal keeping department after the loss of Fabien Mutombora and the lack of experience and exposure since most of the players are new in the set up.
“Like you have witnessed in this match, our biggest undoing is game management and you can only achieve that after a series of friendly matches, most of these boys are new but they are slowly readjusting to our ways”.
“We created a lot of chances but failed to take them away, Police created a few but they executed them all, we hope to sharpen up in that area”.
On the problematic goal keeping department, Kisala explained that management and the technical team are working around the clock to find the best possible options and solutions.
“It’s quite disappointing that we lost Mutombora in such a manner after a long time of preparation with us, we spotted and invested heavily in him, we just can’t lose him like that”

“We have involved the higher authorities to deliberate on this issue, I believe Vipers have him unlawfully and we shall have him back because he is still our player registered by us”
“That aside, we are looking at a few other options which will be finalized soon, luckily, the transfer window has been extended by the federation which plays to our advantage” .
Express FC currently have only one recognized goal keeper in Tonny Kyamera. They will play their next pre season friendly on Saturday against a team yet to be named.
