KCCA head coach Mike Mutebi has this morning unveiled 11 new players that have been added to their squad for the 2017/18 season.

Among these are two strikers signed across the boarders and they are Nigerian Abubakar Saddiq and Malango Faisam Ndjibu from Cameroon. They have both signed on 3 year deals.

While addressing the media, Mike Mutebi stressed that he has gone for the not so established youngsters because they still have a lot to prove and they have a hunger for success. He said,

” This is a crop of young and energetic players to help us push the already established members of our squad. We have exposed them to a pre season of 25 games to help them readjust to our way of playing.”

“Most of Ugandan players are quickly satisfied with minimum achievements and that’s the reason behind our insistence on going for the young and hungry players who will gives that extra zeal to push us forward.”

At the end of last season KCCA lost a huge chunk of their most senior players but Mutebi thinks that’s is not a reason to worry about. He adds,

“Most of the players that left us were fringe players who did not actually need. Among all the exited players, there is only one that we actually lost and that’s Geoffrey Sserunkuma, he went because we could not match the offer he had received from Buildcon FC of Zambia but Ntege, Majwega, Kayizzi and the rest were not going to help us”.
