KCCA survive late scare from Soltilo Bright Stars to seal winning start

KCCA FC started their search for a 14th league title with a 2-1 away win over Soltilo Bright Stars at the Kavumba grounds.

New signing Brian Aheebwa opened his scoring account in the 22nd minute with a close range finish from a Keziron Kizito ball.

Six minutes later, Aheebwa set up youngster Sam Ssenyonjo who made it 2-0 with an easy tap in.

Soltilo Bright Stars who barely made intent of scoring in the first 45th minutes, emerged a completely different side in the closing half.

After a series of relentless attacks, the Baker Mboowa coached side finally found a breakthrough through winger Joseph Akandwanaho who header beat the trying gloves of Charles Lukwago in the 78th minute.

The final closing 10 minutes saw Soltilo Bright Stars push for a possible equaliser through Akandwanaho, Ronald Ssempala, Joseph Janjali and company.

KCCA current sit on top of the league with 3 points, their next opponent si Onduparaka, whereas Bright stars visit URA on the 9th of November 2020.
