KCCA strengthen grip at the top with win over Mbarara city

Youngster Sam Ssenyonjo scored his 5th goal of the season after a first half header from defender Denis Iguma to seal the third straight win for the Mike Mutebi coached side.

The 3rd consecutive win extend KCCA’s lead on top of the new Uganda Premier League table.

It is KCCA’s only 2nd win over Mbarara city in the 7 meetings the two sides have had. Mbarara city have won once and the rest draws.

Moses Aliro’s free-kick on 38 minutes was header home by Denis Iguma to give the hosts an early lead.

Into the second stanza, Sam Ssenyonjo scored his 5th goal of the season after Goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba spilled a Denis Iguma ball earlier on.

The three points earned take KCCA to 9 points on the log and they will visit SC Villa on Tuesday at Bombo. Mbarara city will host Express FC on Wednesday next week.
