KCCA FC advanced to the quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after seeing off Maroons with a 5-0 aggregate score.

The first leg ended 2-0 and coming into the return leg, Morley Byekwaso and his men had no room for complacency and successfully dispatched the Prison Warders.

Goals from Sadat Anaku, Steven Sserwadda and second half substitute Juma Balinya handed the joint record holders a comprehensive 3-0.

Anaku opened the scoring in the 7th minute when he rushed past Eric Dhaira the Maroons keeper and slotted the ball into an empty net.

Gift Ali nearly made it 2-0 on 20 minutes but his effort came off the goal frame.

The KCCA relentless attacks paid off with another goal. Sserwadda was on the receiving end of Samson Kigozi’s wonderful spadework in the 32nd minute.

Maroons had an opportunity to pull one back through a penalty in the 53rd minute but Derrick Mudaali blasted it wide. His effort came off the crossbar.

Balinya put the icing on the cake in the 90th minute after being set up by fellow substitute Bright Anukani. Balinya had replaced Sadat Anaku while Anukani took Kigozi’s place.

KCCA now join rivals Vipers, Express and SC Villa in the quarter finals. Wakiso Giants are the other side that already booked a place in the last 8.

KCCA will face Vipers in their next game in the league scheduled for Sunday 9th May at Lugogo.
