In a twist of events, KCCA are set to beat arch rivals Vipers SC to the signature Uganda Cranes defender Murushid Juuko.

KCCA are in hunt of a central defender after John Revita underwent a knee operation early this month which is likely to keep him out of action for the better part of the forthcoming season.

Swift Sports has learnt that the Lugogo outfit are keen to sign Vipers’ transfer target Juuko who is currently a free agent.

Vipers have seemingly dithered on a move for Juuko which has opened up a window of opportunity for KCCA to swoop in.

Juuko’s move to KCCA would bolster Mike Mutebi’s defensive options with experience as well as depth.

Juuko left Wydad Casablanca shortly after joining the Moroccan side at the start of the current season.

The Cranes defense kingpin is also linked to moves to Bloemfontein Celtic of South Africa and Ethiopia’s St. George.

Besides being a mainstay in the Uganda Cranes set up, Juuko has also previously featured for Bunamwaya FC (Now Vipers SC), SC Victoria University and Tanzania’s Simba SC.
