After their 3-0 loss to Morocco’s FUS Rabat in the first game of their Caf confederations group stage encounter, Mike Mutebi’s men face another tough task as they take on Club Africain of Tunisia today 23rd May 2017 at Phillip Omondi stadium Lugogo. The last time the Tunisian giants visited Uganda was 26 years ago, when a star studded SC Villa hosted them at Nakivubo in 1991 during the return leg of CAF champions league finals that Ended 1-1.
Kcca come into this game having only lost once at home in all competitions, that well documented loss to Vipers SC in the league. First choice goal keeper Benjamin Ochan returns after missing the Fus Rabat game through suspension,
“We had a lot of players missing in our team, and that too weakened our team but most of them are back and we are ready to fight for a result this time and i believe we can pick up the needed result,” says Ochan.
Kcca will not only be boosted by the return of Ochan,but also captain Denis Okot who also returns from suspension, Paul Mucurezi recovered from injury and he also featured in the game against Sadolin paints in the league. Teenage prodigy Allan Okello is back after starring in national Copa Coca-cola tournament for his school Kibuli s.s in Masaka
However, Saddam Juma is not yet eligible to play since,he has not yet recieved the Caf licence.
According to club CEO David Tamale,”
Caf say that we signed the player when the transfer window was not officially opened and that’s why Saddam will miss the game.”
Muzamir Mutyaba will miss the game through an injury sustained on the final day of the league.
The Azam premier league champions must win this game if they are to stand any chances of progressing passed the group phases
A win for Kcca will boost Mike Mutebi’s dream of reaching the quarter finals of the competition.
