KCCA FC are working on a deal to sign former Kyetume FC goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa.

Swift Sports understands that the 13 time Uganda Premier League champions are close to agreeing a deal with the shot stopper.

Mutakubwa is expected to sign a three year employment contract with the Lugogo based side.

Last year, Mutakubwa was on both Vipers SC and Express FC radars but now it looks like he is closer to making a move to Morley Byekwaso coached side.

The goalkeeper is currently a free agent after expiration of his employment contract at Kyetume FC. Mutakubwa finished the remainder of the just concluded season serving an indefinite club suspension.

In 2019, Mutakubwa was named the best goalkeeper at the Airtel FUFA Awards. The former Tooro United player was also part of the Uganda Cranes CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup triumphant team in 2019.

In case the deal materializes, Mutakubwa will compete for a starting place with KCCA FC captain Charles Lukwago.
