Paidha Black Angels became the first team to be relegated in the 2018/19 season of the Star Times Uganda premier league.

The Blacks’ fate was confirmed on the rain soaked evening of Tuesday 9th April 2019 at Bar Okoro Stadium in Zombo district.

They had done some good work at frustrating KCCA for the first 45 minutes but their resolve was broken soon after the resumption of second period.

Midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba sent a thunder bolt outside the box that hit the top bar and hit the net in the 48th minute.

It was his second serious attempt of the evening after hitting the ball in the same style but this time Benson Orom was equal to the effort in the 41st minute.

Paidha were not going to give up easily and tried their lack with a double substitution, introducing Brian Okumu for Jerry Adebu and goal keeper Pius Dibala for Benson Orom in the 60th minute.

Goal keeper Charles Lukwago was called into action to save a late scare following Paidha’s non stop attacks, he blocked Kidega’s low shot and later on directed Dickens Okwi’s powerful effort to the cross bar.

KCCA’s nerves were calmed in the 83rd minute when pacy forward Allan Kyambadde got fouled in the area to win a penalty for the visitors.

Patrick Kaddu stood up for the challenge and he flawless buried the ball into the far corner to ensure that KCCA extend their lead at the top to seven points with only four games left.

KCCA lead the log with 56 points, they will return to action on 20th April when they host Express FC at the Startimes stadium.

Paidha remain lurking on the bottom of the log with 12 points collected from 26 points having only managed to win two games. Their remaining fixtures have now turned academic starting with the long trip to Jinja where they will take on Kirinya JSS on 16th April 2019.
