KCCA held by Mbarara City in a barren stalemate

Mbarara City held Kcca Fc to a goalless draw at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.

The visitors were forced into an early change when Charles Lukwago got injured earlier in the game and replaced by Benjamin Ochan.

The Ankole lions began the game on the front foot getting several attempts on the Kcca Fc goal in the opening stages of the game.

In the 9th minute Mbarara City goalkeeper Ali Kimera almost gifted Kcca Fc off a Allan Kateregga corner kick but he was rescued in time by his well organized and solid defence.

The first 45 minutes saw both sides create few goal scoring opportunities and ending goalless.

Earlier in the second period the visitors introduced on Saddam Juma for Patrick Kaddu to boost on their attack as well has create more chances.

The best chance of the game fall to Derrick Nsibambi in the 80th minute when he only had the goalkeeper to beat but Ali Kimera stood firm in goal with a wonderful save to keep the score at bay.

Allan Okello was came on for Allan Kateregga at the deep end but it was too late for the youngster to make any impact on the game. By the end of proceedings at Kakyeka both sides had to settle for a barren stalemate.

Yeseri Waibi was the only player to go into the referee’s book for a double boot tackle on Kcca Fc attacking Midfielder Paul Mucureezi.

The result sees the Lugogo outfit Kcca Fc leapfrog Police in second place on goal difference with 23 points and 5 adrift of current table leaders Sc Villa whereas Mbarara City lies 12th on the log with 15 points.

Kcca Fc will next play Kirinya Jinja S.S Fc at Startimes Stadium while Mbarara City’s next fixture is away to URA just after the league recess on 19 December.
