Muhammad Shaban who parted ways with the Betway sponsored side Onduparaka fc is also expected to boost the striking line ahead of the club’s return to the Total CAF champions league this season.
Shaban signed a three years’ deal with the Lugogo based side but his former bosses in Arua were quick to question the move saying the player still belongs to them and he wasn’t released officially.
“We would like to clarify that Muhammad Shaban signed a 3 year contract with Onduparaka fc on 2nd, Aug, 2016 and this contract was submitted by the club CEO and registered by FUFA under document number 0175. The registration of this document established its validity in accordance with Article 5 paragraph 5.1 of FUFA regulations and transfer of players”.
Read part of the letter from the management of Onduparaka fc.
On the deadline day of the transfer window , Shaban was unveiled at Lugogo after the players’ status committee had earlier ruled that the player in question would join a club of his choice following a complaint that he had been denied release by the club (Onduparaka) in which he had submitted a request of intention to leave in order to further his education and that he wasn’t comfortable playing for a club which had stripped him of the captaincy.
However in their statement, Onduparaka fc insisted that they did not breach their contact with the player and maintained that Shaban Muhammad is still their player.
“In its ruling, the committee did not find Onduparaka fc in breach of its contract with the player in question and therefore, Shaban is still a player of Onduparaka fc and this status can only change until a formal release has been issued by the club”. The club statement says.
