KCCA FC are on the verge of beating Vipers SC to the signature of exciting midfielder Shafiq Kagimu from URA FC.

Kagimu who signed for URA from Water FC in the 2015/16 season has had a tremendous rise in stature despite struggling to match his exploits of the 2016/17 where he was nominated for the best midfielder of the season award.

He was also a major component of Micho’s CHAN qualification team before being astonishingly dropped by Moses Basena prior to the tournament proper.

Swift Sports sources understand that KCCA have intensified the quest for Kagimu who is expected to add a more direct dimension to the young team that has lost Derrick Nsibambi and likely to lose Paul Mucurezi to Mbarara City.

If URA and KCCA reach a compromise on Kagimu’s transfer, he is expected to sign on a 3 year deal.
