Mike Mutebi’s KCCA FC closed the gap on leaders Vipers SC to two points with a 2-0 win away to Kyetume in a league contest played at Might Arena in Jinja on Tuesday evening.
Goals from youngster Sadat Anaku and Erisa Sekisambu inspired the reigning Ugandan champions to a much needed victory.
Anaku gave the visitors an early lead when he fired past Kyetume custodian Joel Mutakubwa in the 9th minute.
Sekisambu doubled KCCA FC’s advantage off a Mustafa Kizza’s assist at the stroke of halftime.
Kizza assist for Sekisambu’s goal was his 39th in the league since making his debut in 2017 and his 9th this campaign.
In the second period, Denis Lubowa’s powerful header was well saved by KCCA FC goalie and skipper Charles Lukwago.
Mike Mutyaba and Herbert Achai came close to extending the visitors lead but were denied by Mutakubwa.
Victory sees KCCA FC move to 41 points and will next visit URA FC whereas Kyetume are 13th on the log with 19 points in 19 games and will next face Proline FC.
