It was a combination of the much coveted pair of youngsters that delivered when KCCA searched for a hero to get past a resilient Soana side, Mustapha Kizza the creater and Julius Poloto the finisher.
In a game that KCCA bossed right from the start but with no breakthrough, the long awaited moment came in the 65th minute when KCCA won a corner kick that was perfectly delivered by dead ball specialist Mustafa Kizza.
His inswinging delivery fell on the head of Julius Poloto, who fired home with a bullet of a header.
Derrick Nsibambi, Allan Okello and Shaban Muhammad were the other KCCA FC strikers that had earlier tried to find the net but Joel Mutakubwa had a very steady evening behind the sticks.
In form custodian Charles Lukwago was again called in to save KCCA during the final minutes of the game with a point blank save to deny Simon Okwi who had been presented with a glorious chance to equalize for the visitors.
KCCA now move within only a point behind leaders SC Villa but with a game in hand, SC Villa are number one with 37 points after their stalemate with Bright stars.
Soana’s 8th defeat of the season sees them dragged in the relegation mix and their place is taken by UPDF who managed to beat Mbarara City. Soana now seat 13th on the log. Their next in line fixture is on the 10th of March as they host the unpredictable URA FC.
