KCCA edges closer to the next round with a convincing win over Mtibwa sugar

Uganda’s representatives in the CAF champions league KCCA have cruised to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Tanzanian outfit Mtibwa sugar at the star times stadium in Lugogo.

It was the first round of the 2nd preliminary qualification stage of the competition.

Scores are in most cases deceptive and it was the case this evening with KCCA wasting a host of chances especially in the first period.

Patrick Kaddu celebrates his goal

Allan Kyambadde, Allan Okello and Patrick Kaddu missed clear cut chances, keeping the visitors in the game.

Whatever Mike Mutebi told them at the halftime break must have been a huge catalyst as they returned a more ruthless team.

Allan Kyambadde sent a thunderous strike towards Shaban Shaban who could only manage to finger tip in the 47th minute. His unwillingness to waste time on celebrating the goal spoke volumes of the team’s agenda.

The hosts continued with their quest for another goal and it soon came in the 74th minute, this time by the in form Patrick Kaddu. The striker however saved a few seconds to perform his signature “Kakima” dance.

The goal that relieved the hearts of KCCA’s sympathisers came from an obvious source, Allan Okello cut inside to his favoured left foot from the right wing to send a beautiful curler into the top corner to all but seal advancement for KCCA FC.
