KCCA edge Vipers on penalties to retain FUFA Super Cup glory

KCCA once again won the FUFA Super Cup for the third straight occasion. To achieve the feat, the Uganda Cup holders had to defeat League holders and rivals Vipers 4-2 in a penalty shoot out at Wankulukuku stadium.

In normal time, the two sides had played to a goalless stalemate with Charles Lukwago the most tested goalkeeper on the evening.

Lukwago notably made a double save in the first half before denying Daniel Muzeyi Serunkuma at the death to force penalty shoot outs.

In shoot outs, KCCA converted all their 4 penalties through Hassan Musana, Bernard Muwanga, Mustafa Kizza and lastly Julius Poloto.

Frank Tumwesigye impressed for Vipers in the opening minutes but he was later phased out by kcca’s midfield

Tito Okello and Geoffrey Wasswa scored their penalties for Vipers, Aggrey saw his while Moses Waiswa sent his inches wide.
