The diminutive winger leaves KCCA after a period of six years. He is one of the many successful players who have rolled off the KCCA academy conveyor belt.

Sserwadda, who caught the eye of many scouts at the AFCON U20 tournament, joins the MLS club on a two year contract.

He starred at the AFCON U20 tournament held in Mauritania and scored two goals in the process as Uganda Hippos finished runners up behind eventual winners Ghana.

He will be welcomed by former Uganda Cranes captain Ibrahim Sekagya who is a part coaching team at New York Red Bulls.

Mustafa Kizza (CF Montreal) and Edward Kizza (New England Revolution) are the other Ugandan players currently playing in the Major League Soccer.
