KCCA aim to keep double dream alive as off colour Soltilo Bright Stars visit

KCCA FC will take on Soltilo Bright Stars in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 tie on Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

The Kasasiro Boys beat Busia United 2-1 in the round of 64 whereas Bright Stars needed eliminated Free Stars 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate in normal time to progress to the round of 32.

Morley Byekwaso’s side are seeking for their 11th Stanbic Uganda Cup triumph whereas 2019 runners up Bright Stars are only looking for their first Cup coronation.

The hosts will be without striker Patrick Henry Kaddu due to injury.

Meanwhile, the trio of Sadat Anaku, Ali Mwirusi and Sadat Anaku who missed the previous three games for the side following their trip to Spain are available for this contest.

Defender Denis Iguma has recovered from injury and is expected to start for Morley Byekwaso’s side.

Bright Stars

Forward Nelson Senkatuka is major doubt for the contest at Lugogo but the rest of the squad is fully fit.

This will be the 18 meeting between the two sides in all competitions, KCCA has managed 10 wins, Brights 2 and 5 of previous 17 games have ended in stalemates.

Both KCCA FC and Bright Stars FC shared spoils in a one all draw played in Kavumba in the first round of the 2021/22 season of the Uganda Premier League.
