Masavu FC proved why they are everyone’s relegation favorites after falling to a humbling 6-0 defeat at the hands of KCCA at the Philip Omondi Stadium compelling them to their 6th win of the season.
It was the perfect stage for new signing Allan Kateregga to redeem himself after failing to impress in the previous games, most recently, he was bundled off before half time in Masaka in his team’s defeat to SC Villa.
Against Masavu, Kateregga opened his account with a neat goal and registered two assists for Derrick Nsibambi and Samuel Sekamatte in the 10th and 17th minutes respectively.
Masavu had a chance to get back into the game before halftime but talisman Abraham Ndugwa chose to blast his team’s only chance for redemption into the wilderness after Timothy Awany handed the ball in the penalty area on 28 minutes.
Samuel Sekamatte sustained an injury before halftime and he was replaced by Tito Okello who also inflicted more pain to the helpless Masavu with 2 goals on the 58th and 70th minutes.
Patrick Kaddu applied the icing on the cake with a trademark header when he met a well delivered cross from Kizza Mustafa to send the score to 6-0.
The resounding win makes KCCA the highest scoring team in the league with 15 goals, followed by Police on 11 and Proline on 10. KCCA are now 4th on the table with 13 points just 3 behind the leaders Police
Masavu were subjected to their heaviest defeat and it worsens their total tally of goals conceded to 16 having only scored 6. They stay 16th on the log with 6 defeats, one win and one draw.
