After a 1-1 stalemate with fellow relegation threatened candidates Masavu, Mbarara city coach Sam Kawalya insists it’s too early to give up the fight.
With 3 games to go, they will have to host Proline FC another relegation battling team, Onduparaka and Kirinya JSS, a fixture from which Kawalya expects to garner maximum points and leave the rest to fate.
“We had come for maximum points but it has not been possible. I am very impressed my players managed to at least win for a point , a point away from home is always not bad”
” A point we secured against SC Villa in our recent fixture motivated the team so much since we scored in the dying minutes of the game”.
He believes home advantage will be key in their next fixtures
” We have three remaining fixtures at home, our target is maximising points in those games and i am very confident we are surviving the drop.”
Mbarara City is 12th with 28 points collected from 27 games they have played and will be hosting Proline in their next fixture on Saturday 5th May at Kakyeka Stadium.
The other two remaining fixtures for the Ankole Lions are hosting Onduparaka FC and Kirinya Jinja SS
