Katwe United FC saw off Bweyogerere FC 2-1 during match day 12 of the Kampala Region League, played at Katwe Playgrounds on Sunday.

Muweesi Bashir put the hosts into a deserved lead in the 35th to send the fans into a bouncing frenzy.

Bweyogerere retaliated with an equaliser in the 50th minute sending the mammoth crowds of fans into a loud silence.

With the clock ticking, Lubowa Micheal restored Katwe’s lead with a superb tap in. His goal was enough to seal three vital points for Hassan Mubiru’s side.

Katwe tactician Hassan Mubiru’s was full of praise for his beleaguered troops and believes his side will continue looking for great results.

“It is a good team, they have played well and I think they have a bright future.”

“The team is focused, they play like defending champions. We are optimistic about more good results,” he said.

Katwe United remains at the summit with 27 points from 12 games played so far. Having won eight, drawn thrice and lost only a game.

The Katwe based side will next travel to Kira on Wednesday 16th January to take on Catida FC.
